There has been a water leak by the Hanley Path (which connects the Greenway to Hanley Car Park) for a long time, well over a year. This has been coming from the pipe that connects both Hanley and Georgian Clubs to the main water supply. Thames Water seemed incapable of doing anything about it, despite months of continual chasing by both CREOS and Shepherds Cot. Eventually persistence paid off, and we are pleased to report that in late September it has now at long last been fixed. Thanks are also due to the CREOS volunteers who made temporary alterations to the path while the repairs took place.
It is disappointing that in a time of water shortage and hosepipe ban Thames Water gives insufficient priority to fixing leaks. If you happen to spot leaking water anywhere you can report it here>>.
