Crouch End Open Space lies between Shepherd’s Hill, Park Road, Wood Vale and Cranley Gardens. There is no official car park, and so if travelling by car, it is best to park on the above roads where there is (as yet) no CPZ. Parking limited to certain hours is possible on other surrounding roads but please be considerate to residents.

From Shepherds Hill

This road runs from Highgate tube eastwards towards Crouch End, there are two access points:

1 – Turn left down Montenotte Road and take the left hand track signed Shepherd’s Cot Trust, not the entrance to Highgate Wood School (see yellow arrow). To find by satnav, search for N8 8RN. When you arrive at the North London Cricket Club car park, turn left and at the far end of the pavilion is a wooded track which leads to the meadow.

2 – From Park Road N8 8JJ there is a footpath opposite Park Avenue Road South signed ‘Greenways’. Half way up this path take the turning to the left and at the end turn right. This will take you to Hanley Car Park from where there is a wooded path leading out of the car park towards the meadow.

From Wood Lane

This road leads from Highgate tube, there are three access points:

3 – At the end of Queen’s Wood (Queenswood Road), just before the Wood Vale residential area, there is a path to the right leading down into the Woodland Walk by the side of the allotments. Follow this path and it will lead you to the meadow.

There are two tracks further down Wood Vale:

4 – one leading to the allotments and the fields (unmarked)

5 – one marked ‘Greenways’ and ‘Crouch End Playing Fields’

Tube
Highgate (Northern Line) is the nearest tube station. At the top of the escalator take the exit marked Priory Gardens. Continue straight ahead until after about 300m you see a steep footpath on the left leading down into Queen’s Wood. At the bottom of the slope you see a gravel track (Woodland Walk) on the right, which takes you into the Crouch End Open Space.
