Following our conservation management plan we maintain the woodland and meadow to promote healthy development of the trees and ground flora to improve their ecological quality and to boost biodiversity. We have planted a new coppice and hedgerows as well as being custodians for long established veteran oaks.
To keep the space accessible for all and in all weathers we actively maintain paths, cut back undergrowth and invasive vegetation, remove litter and strim the meadow.
This all takes plenty of effort from our volunteer teams on our regular monthly workdays. Our working days are not just a good way to engage with some active local conservation but a great way to get some fresh air and exercise.
